1. Information We Collect
When you use KrishiPulse, we collect only what we need to deliver the service you signed up for. Specifically:
- Account information — your phone number, name, language preference, and (optionally) email address.
- Farm profile — GPS coordinates of your farm, land size, soil type, water source, and the crops you grow. This information is used by our KrishiAI engine to generate recommendations specific to your farm.
- Auction and payment data — auction listings, bid history, escrow transactions, and bank account details required to receive payouts. Bank details are stored encrypted and used only for payouts via RazorpayX.
- Sensor and IoT data — if you connect IoT sensors, we store the sensor readings to power your monitoring dashboard.
- Usage data — device type, browser, app interactions, and crash logs. We use this only to improve product reliability.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver and improve the KrishiPulse service.
- To process payments, settlements, and tax invoices required by law.
- To generate crop recommendations, weather alerts, and disease detections specific to your farm.
- To send transactional notifications you have opted into (auction updates, settlement notices, weather alerts).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited cases:
- With buyers and farmers you transact with — to enable a sale, the other party sees your name, mandi-relevant farm details, and the lot/bid information.
- With payment partners (Razorpay, RazorpayX) — to process subscriptions and payouts.
- With service providers (cloud hosting, email, SMS) — under signed data-processing agreements that prohibit secondary use.
- With government authorities — only when required by law (subpoena, court order, tax authority request).
4. Your Rights Under DPDP Act 2023
You have the following rights, exercisable at any time:
- Right to access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction — fix errors in your data through the app or by writing to us.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations (tax invoices etc.).
- Right to grievance redressal — escalate complaints to our Grievance Officer (see section 7).
- Right to nominate — name a person who can exercise your data rights in case of incapacity or death.
5. Data Retention
- Account data — kept while your account is active and for 180 days after closure, in case you want to restore.
- Tax invoices, settlements, and audit logs — 7 years, as required by GST and Income Tax law.
- Crash logs and analytics — 90 days.
6. Security Measures
We use industry-standard security: TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest for sensitive fields, append-only audit logs for all admin actions, rate limiting on authentication endpoints, and OWASP-compliant code review. Production access is restricted to a small number of authorised engineers with mandatory two-factor authentication.

8. Cookies and Tracking
We use a small number of cookies essential to the service (session, language preference, CSRF protection) plus an analytics cookie (PostHog) that helps us understand product usage in aggregate. No third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by KrishiPulse. You can clear cookies at any time from your browser settings.
